Scam Com: Money from Iraq or Benin

The following scam com example is a scam letter from either Iraq, Benin or the UK if the email address is considered. The typical scam communication usually takes place through email. The scam com author tries to get the potential scam victim to respond with personal information. The check scam commences when the victim is sent a check to be cashed. The proceeds of the check are then sent back.

The theme found in this scam communication is a business parnership which is one of the many used in the African scam. Unlike the phishing scam com that uses a fake website, the African scam letter usually states that millions of dollars are waiting for the scam victim.

This particular scam sounds like it was stolen from the plot of the movie Three Kings where three American soldiers find gold in the bunkers of Iraq. Since the email proposes a split of 30% between the American soldier, their partner, and the scam victim with 10% for expenses, of course, the scam victim is supposed to believe that they are one of the three kings like in the movie. If the scam victim actually falls for the message in this scam letter, however, and participates in the check scam that usually follows, they might end up instead feeling like one of the Three Stooges.
