Internet Scams: Online Lottery Fraud Email; Prize 1 Million Euros

The current Internet scam claims that the person receiving the fraud email has won an online lottery. A large number of Internet scams tell scam victims that they can receive millions or dollars, pounds or euros just for winning a non-existent lottery. Online Internet scams are popular with overseas scammers because many people play the lottery and believe that they will eventually win.

Online Internet scams come from across the globe. Many of them come from countries in Africa such as Nigeria, Ghana, Benin and Senegal. They are not exclusive to Africa, however, many online Internet scams involve countries in Europe such as the UK which is known for the UK lottery scam. The current scam letter is an example of a lottery scam although the country is not specifically mentioned. Additional European countries include but are not limited to Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Russia.

This particular online Internet scam tells the scam victim that they won a European lottery just by having an email address. Even though the Email Sweepstakes Program does not really exist, the scammers continuously send out announcements. Fortunately, the lottery scam can be easily identified compared to some other types of online Internet scams. To make the fraud email more authentic, extra nonsense information is provided. Report a scam to the FBI or some other law enforcement agency.
