Internet Scams: Email Fraud Offering Free Money with 20% Share

Scammers are people who conduct Internet scams and email fraud by telling other people that they can become rich and have millions of dollars by acting as a beneficiary to a large transfer of money. The scam victim is also told that they will get a share of the enormous amount of money for their cooperation with the scammer. Many people continuously fall for these Internet scams even though they have become widely known.

Internet scams come from a large number of different countries and regions of the globe. Aside from Nigeria where many Internet scams come from, the countries of Benin, Senegal, Sierra Leone as well as Sudan and South Africa make up the African proportion of scam letters that people receive in their email accounts. In Europe, the nations of Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, Belgium and especially the UK are frequently mentioned in fraud emails that promote the lottery scam.

The current Internet scam being presented here is a variation of the Nigerian inheritance scam where the scam letter states that it is from Nigeria or another country and asks the scam victim to act as a beneficiary. In exchange, the scam victim will receive a percentage of the money. The scam victim's allotment in this case is 20% percent.

Internet scams have certain types of words that they use such as "beneficiary" that make them easily identifiable. Other features that make Internet scams recognizable are bad spelling, overuse of exclamation marks , bad sentence construction and bad grammar, just to name a few. By learning these features, email fraud can be prevented.
